Peace Like a River was originally recorded over twenty years ago by three of my wife's uncles, an aunt, and another man from the Plainview Mennonite Church in Kansas. It is called a Quartet but actually there are five singing with two singing bass. The second bass provides a full rich sound. The one uncle has been reproducing the tape over the years and selling them. He states, "The people have aged, but the music has not." And it is true. Decidedly Godly music does not age. It stands the test of time.

This moving recording draws the analogy of a supersonic airplane flight with our flight to Heaven. It begins at the airport and ends at our final destination, Heaven. You will hear the broadcaster describing what he is seeing at the terminal.You will hear the roar of the supersonic jet as it leaves earth. And you will hear the excitement of the passengersas they first glimpseHeaven. Many of the songs take on new meaning as they are sung in the context of Heaven. Flight F-I-N-A-L was originally produced in 1965 by evangelist Forest McCoulough. The idea for this recording came to him on an airplane the day following his father's funeral. It was his desire that as you listened to the dramatic recording that you would be inspired to prepare yourself for the journey that you will someday make into eternity. After being gripped by the powerful message of that recording which is no longer available, the Antrim Mennonite Choir decided to redo it. There are a few alterations from the original recording; but for the most part it is intact. It is an even better production than the original.
Flight F-I-N-A-L was a favorite of mine as a boy and still is.Your heart will be drawn toward heaven as you listen. It will remind you each time you listen that this world is not our home. Eternity with Christ is what we want!

A favorite in our family, we highly recommend this children's tape. There's not a lot of fanfare, but the simple tunes and accompaniment make the songs easy to sing and learn. Our oldest son practically wore out our tape as a very young child. It's sung in solos and duets by Samuel Lehman (boy soprano), James A. Miller, and Romaine Sala. Piano and recorder are the accompanying instruments.

The Mennonite Hour Singers
If you love hymns, we highly recommend these recordings. The Mennonite Hour Singers originally recorded in the '50's, '60's, and '70's. They were from many professions who gave sacrificially of their time to share in the mission of The Mennonite Hour, to share the living Christ and the message of His transforming power on records and radio. At one point the international Mennonite Hour broadcast was heard weekly on over 700 radio stations. Fortunately, many of the recordings have been remixed and made available on cassette tape and CD in recent years. The Mennonite Hour Singers have high quality vocals with rich full harmony. These are songs that you will love to sing along with. Some are soothing, some are rousing. All of the Mennonite Hour recordings are a cappella (no instruments).
